New Employee Perspectives Functionality

What is Employee Perspectives?

Employee Perspectives enables organizations to configure at-a-glance views, or scorecards, of employee performance, productivity and engagement.

The system tracks employee data and metrics across a wide range of categories. We can calculate and expose the resulting scores to executives, frontline managers and employees to make informed decisions regarding employee performance.

How does this functionality work?

At the company level, organizations can create categories for their key employee metrics (e.g., risk, reliability, performance, happiness, etc.), which can be calculated by pulling existing information from the system. For example, a reliability score might be calculated based on how many times an employee clocked in late/early and how many absences the employee has.

While the names of these categories remain the same across the organization, the way the scores are calculated and weighted for each employee may be different based on their role.

What are some of the use cases for Employee Perspectives?

  • Employee engagement – When an organization exposes Employee Perspectives scores to employees and managers, they can see what factors or metrics equate to a positive employee score. If an employee score goes up or down, an employee can identify the influences that caused the change in the score. There may be cases where you can incentivize employees that achieve a certain score.
  • Deliver performance evaluation transparency and fairness – By putting the Employee Perspectives scorecards in place and giving employees access to their own scores and the metrics that generate these scores, they can see their status in real time and identify the behaviors impacting their scores, which can be tied to their performance evaluation. Employee Perspectives can also drive the content of the manager’s evaluation, enabling data-driven decisions during the review cycle, instead of an evaluation based exclusively on opinions or anecdotes. This increases transparency and fairness of scoring systems and strategies during the review process, particularly for the hourly workforce.
  • Support strategic scheduling decisions – If you need to fill an open shift, often decisions are based on cost or required skills. Within the Scheduler module, you can view employees based on the highest scores from Employee Perspectives so that you can select the most reliable employee for the shift, based on the scores.
